My love for letters, letters that form words, words that form phrases, phrases that form sentences, and sentences that create lovely stories is what has led me into writing this blog.
Kata – is the Indonesian word for word.
Kata-kata – words
Kita – we, us, and in it a connotation of togetherness
So, Kata-Kata Kita means “Our words”. Why this name? Because I believe words and sentences and stories are meanings we create together. They stem from a shared understanding between human beings. A word has no meaning if it only means something to me. Because a word, a sentence, a story is used to communicate between entities. Even the hieroglyphics that the ancient Egyptians used in the engraving of their pyramids was meant to serve a purpose. No word is an end in itself. This is the beauty of communication.
What would be this world of humans without words and letters? Dull. No fairytales, no chit-chat, no presentations, no interaction, no life. Simple words, complex words, monosyllables, polysyllables, whatever that can form a shared understanding.
KataKataKita isn’t just for me to write and tell you what I think. It’s for all you citizens in the blogosphere of opinions out there who want to be heard, have something to say, and also want to listen to the thoughts and voices of others. The only rule to play by is “there’s no right or wrong”. Should you have difficulties in understanding the meaning, disagree to the statement, or would like to oppose an argument, simply shout a comment and respond. Together, we can be the authors of virtual reality – through our words, through KataKataKita.
